RDA International Ballet Company

RDA International Ballet Company is a semi-professional dance company, composed of adults of different ages who have ‘normal’ full-time jobs but share their love for classical dance. Our dancer's study technique as well as classical choreographies and repertoires.

After several years of intense training and several theatrical productions, RDA has decided to found a real company, giving its students the chance to experience the true reality and lifestyle of a professional dancer by setting up weekly classes and regular rehearsals during weekends.

The company, despite being made up of dancers who do this with passion but not as a job, gives these individuals the opportunity to work hard and go on stage in London and the UK with real repertoire productions.

The company offers shows to those public or private organizations which need to create special events such as parties, festivals, charity events etc.

The company consists of more than 15 dancers and is self-funding.  All those who love ballet are more than welcome to ‘join the family’!

If you are interested in joining the company for our next shows, do not hesitate to contact us.

If you are interested in having us on your show, event or festival, please feel free to contact us, we would love to perform at your event!

The Story

At the christening of a king and queen's long-wished-for child, seven good fairies are invited to be godmothers to the infant princess. Each fairy offered as gift beauty, wit, grace, dance, song, and goodness to the infant princess.

The evil fairy was very angry about not been invited, and as her gift, enchants the infant princess so that she will one day prick her finger on a spindle of a spinning wheel and fall in eternal sleep.

The King orders that every spindle and spinning wheel in the kingdom to be destroyed, to try to save his daughter from the terrible curse.

Fifteen years pass and one day when the king and queen are away, the Princess wanders through the palace rooms and comes upon an old woman, spinning with her spindle. The princess, who has never seen anyone spin before, asks the old woman if she can try the spinning wheel.

The curse is fulfilled as the princess pricks her finger on the spindle and instantly falls into a deep sleep.

The enchantment comes to an end by a handsome Prince’s kiss and the princess awakens.
